Are you someone who enjoys writing in sprints? Are you in need of a writing buddy? Then check out this brand new writer’s group on Facebook called Authors Sprint Squad aka A$$. I love that name.
Okay, so I’ll be honest. I’m not exactly sure how to do a sprint. I get the gist of the idea, but I’m not sure I’d be very good at it. I’m always afraid I’m going to freeze up and at the end, get maybe 50 words down. However, I do know a lot of writers find this to be a great way to get some real writing stuff done in their WIP. Other’s use it as a tool to form some new ideas for a whole new piece.
Now, I’ll also tell you that this is a BRAND NEW GROUP. I’m talking like newborn status. However, I know the lady who created this group, CJ Landry, and she’s probably forgotten more about writing than most of us will ever learn. And she loves a good sprint.
Author Sprint Squad is a private group, so you’ll have to be approved by the admin before being allowed in. You will have to answer a couple of questions, but it doesn’t hurt…much. Once you’re approved, be sure to read up on any announcements. That way you’ll know of any upcoming events or group news you need to be aware of.
And just in case you’re wondering, the answer is yes. I am a member, but being that the group is so new, I haven’t done any sprints yet. I guess there’s nothing like jumping in with both feet when learning something new.
So, if you’re looking for a new writing buddy or want to join in some writing sprints, I recommend checking out Author Sprint Squad aka A$$. Who knows, you might get to teach me how to do a writing sprint in the process.
